On March 1, 2007, Taylor was involved in a single vehicle accident. He was alone at the time.
Taylor suffered a severe brain injury and a fractured neck. He had no other injuries.
His brain began to swell and efforts to mitigate the swelling didn't work. Finally, on March 6th, the swelling got to a frightening level which required Taylor's neurosurgeon to do emergency surgery. Slowly the swelling subsided and his condition improved.
He stayed at Lakeland Regional Medical Center for 8 weeks and 2 days before he was transferred to rehab at the Florida Institute of Neurologic Rehabilitation (FINR) in Hardee County.
Taylor lost 30 pounds during his hospital/rehab stay - all muscle. He has gained all of it back, and then some!
Fortunately, Taylor's injury did not affect anything that makes Taylor.....well, Taylor. He's still the same smart, funny, loving guy he's always been. He is very, very fortunate.
Taylor came home on July 24th - 3 days short of 5 months of being away from home. He has a lot of time to make up for. His friends and family are trying to make that happen.
He has a long way to go yet, but gets better all the time.
Please continue to pray for Taylor's recovery as he continues to heal.
